I’m grateful for the knowledge. I had breast cancer (tumor) removed in Jan 2015 and some lip notes removed and I used to feel a little sore under the arm but not any more the tumeric frankinsence and myrth oil is what I use mixed with a little virgin olive oil, I rub it on my breast and under my arms and take tumeric capsuls from epic lab as well, I also blend the tumeric ROOT with some almond milk and drink almost every night, soreness is gone and so is pains in my breast. Tumeric is my chemo. Thank you Epic Labs and thank you Ty Bollinger.
Essential oils are found in various plant parts. The oils of peppermint, patchouli, basil, and geranium come from the leaves and stems, clove oil comes from flower buds, and oils of jasmine, rose, and tuberose come from the open flowers. Oils are produced from the whole dried and crushed fruit of anise and coriander, the peels of citrus fruits, the seeds of cardamom, the wood of cedar, the bark of the cinnamon tree, the roots of vetiver grass, the needles of fir trees, the twigs of cypress trees, and the exuded resin of myrrh—in short, just about every anatomical structure. Some plants produce more than one type of oil. The flowers of bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) yield neroli oil; its leaves, petitgrain oil; and the fruit peel, orange oil. Cinnamon is just as versatile, supplying different oils from its leaf, bark, and root.
Health benefits: It is commonly prescribed or chosen for treatment because it reduces pain, eliminates spasms and cures cramps. Marjoram essential oil also protects from wounds becoming septic, inhibits viral and bacterial growth, removes excess gas from intestines, cures headaches, increases perspiration, promotes digestion, increases urination, opens up obstructed menses, cures cough and cold, and dilutes phlegm. Finally, it is known to kill fungus, lower blood pressure, cure constipation, soothe nervous disturbances, widen and relax blood vessels, and generally improving your stomach health.
The essential oils are the aromatic, natural chemical compounds extracted from various parts of a plant: leaves, flowers, stems, roots, bark, etc. They are in such a potent form that a single drop of essential oil can equal multiple teaspoons of the dried herb (for instance, 1 drop of peppermint oil equals more than 25 cups of peppermint tea and oils can be up to 70x more potent than their dried herbal form). This means less is more.
Add tropical atmosphere to your home with this Real Bamboo Essential Oil Diffuser that uses ultrasonic technology. Harmless pulsating ultra-high frequency sound waves create friction in the water molecules causing the water to evaporate into a cool steam. This nebulizing process eliminates the need for heat and breaks up the water and any added essential oils. A cool mist of delicious micro-particles is released into the air whilst increasing humidity levels for an ambiance of well-being.
First, thank you so much for posting these blends! I am so eager to try them. May I ask though – how does the size of your diffuser (and it’s water capacity) matter to the oil amounts in each ‘recipe’? For instance, my daughter has a smaller diffuser than me. Her’s holds a total of 120 ml. Mine on the other hand holds up to 300 ml. I almost never fill it to capacity with water, but it did start me wondering what water amount these blends were based upon.
I am a moderate oil user, meaning I diffuse every night, sometimes during the day and am not a heavy skin application person. Therefore, my collection is small. I love that this is two separate trays so gives you some wiggle room with the layout (side by side, in front of each other or split into two rooms) and I can see each label clearly. If you have a ton of oils to keep out you'd probably prefer a vertical organizer.
There must be thousands of ways to use essential oils! These little bottles are packed with a myriad of potent phytochemicals (natural, plant-based compounds) that are powerful helpers − both for health improvement and also in and around the home. If you are an essential oil newbie, you won’t want to miss this article because we’re sharing 60+ great ways to use 12 basic essential oils. Even if you’re an experienced essential oil user, get ready to learn something new. It’s all about natural healing and improving the world we inhabit. Let’s dive in!
For healthy scalp and beautiful hair. Rosemary oil is beneficial for scalp problems like dandruff and seborrhea because it helps to regulate the secretion of oil in the scalp. It also aids hair regrowth. A 2015 study comparing rosemary with minoxidil, a commonly used drug for combating hair loss, found rosemary essential oil to be just as good as the minoxidil, but only after six months of use.7 So stick with it! Rosemary oil stimulates hair follicles, thus assisting hair to grow longer and stronger. It also promotes cell division and dilates blood vessels in the scalp, which stimulates hair follicles to produce new hair growth.
Essential oils are highly concentrated oils extracted from aromatic plants such as lavender and rosemary. About 700 different types of plants contain useful essential oils, and there are several methods used to extract them — the most common of which is distillation. While essential oils can be very expensive to buy, they are relatively cheap to distill at home.

That would not be recommended. It can't be easily predicted which constituents of each herb would "survive" the process and which constituents may be affected by the constituents of the other plant. In addition, if you make them separately, you can choose whatever ratio of herbs you want to mix. In the end, taking an extra step should allow you more flexibility.

The Aura Cacia bottles are square, and I wasn't sure if they would stay oriented straight or would roll around at funny angles. They sit straight and look great. Be sure to set the back of one on top of the front of the one behind to "lock" them together in place. These come with tacky pad stickers to place on the bottom so they don't slide around in the drawer. Very well thought out product.
How do I go about getting the free book on Essential Oils by Ty Bollinger? Within the past year, I have been reading more and more about essential oils and their amazing benefits. The problem is knowing what brands to purchase that are not toxic even from health food / vitamin stores. I live in Toronto ON Canada so its difficult to get it shipped from the USA.
I would start with about 5 drops of oil for your diffuser (for most) depending on room size and the strength of the oil… then can add more. 10 drops for a large room. So for a recipe with 3 different oils, I usually start with 1-2 drops of each and see how that goes. I can always turn it off and add more if I feel it can be stronger, and I’ll usually end up a little stronger in our main living space for example. In my room, I get away with closer to one drop of each oil since it’s a smaller room. Again you can always add more, but start small. 🙂
Hi Kathy, my name is Christian, and I’m a veterinary technician. My dog has also been going through this, and he has literally tried everything on the market. Apoquel, Zyrtec, topical ointments, shampoos, you name it. The only thing that has ever given him relief was CytoPoint. It is an injection that lasts anywhere from 1 to 4 months, depending on the dog and their allergy. It is pretty pricey, but so worth not seeing your fur baby scratching their heart out. Like Teri said, essential oils can be extremely damaging to your pup’s skin, especially if it’s raw and inflamed from the scratching. But I hope this helps! Take care, and God bless!
Produced only in Australia, tea tree oil is a very powerful antiseptic and antibacterial essential oil. Tea tree oil can be used to treat fungal infections such as athletes foot and nail infections, relieves itching caused by insect bites and can be diluted into a mouthwash to treat gingivitis or bad breath. It is also one of the few oils that can be applied undiluted, although this should be done with extreme caution as it can cause a reaction in those with sensitive skin.

Health benefits: It is commonly used for pain relief, curing of allergies, inhibition of bacterial, viral, fungal & microbial growth, and is useful in fighting depression and uplifting mood. Furthermore, it protects against sepsis, relaxes spasms, enhances libido, fights infections, increases urination and the subsequent removal of toxins, expels phlegm and catarrh, while relaxing the body and mind.
Keep an eye on the still. After a while, the distillate should begin to come through your condenser and into your separator. The process should be fairly hands-off, but you want to make sure you don’t run out of water in your still. Depending on the length of the distillation process, you may also need to change the water in the cold-water tub. If the hot pipe warms the water up, replace it with fresh cold water or ice so that the cooling process continues to work.

Health benefits: Traditionally, it has been used for pain relief, relaxation of the body and mind, treatment of rheumatism and arthritis, as well as for reduction in spasms.  Furthermore, it protects against sepsis, spreads a pleasant fragrance, tightens gums and muscles and helps stop hair loss. Finally, it reduces the risk of hemorrhage, removes gas, increases urination and subsequent removal of toxins, and regulates a normal and healthy menstrual cycle.
Hi Kristi! I wouldn’t necessarily run all at the same time with different blends as it could just be too much for your sense of smell, unless they are in different rooms and you won’t notice the scent from another room. I do have one in my bedroom and another in my kitchen area and almost always have different blends in them, although usually they aren’t running simultaneously since I’m not in both of the rooms at the same time. I also have one in the kids room where I’ll run some soothing blends in there for a little while before they go to sleep 🙂

They're made from parts of certain plants like leaves, herbs, barks, and rinds. Makers use different methods to concentrate them into oils. You may add them to vegetable oils, creams, or bath gels. Or you might smell them, rub them on your skin, or put them in your bath. Some research shows that they can be helpful, if you know how to use them the right way. Always check the label and ask your doctor if you’re not sure if they’re OK for you to use.
